Service Description

We take fun seriously! Paddle-boarding is big time popular... unfortunately with this steep rise in popularity it's brought significant safety concerns, mainly due to the ease and accessibility of SUP's from supermarkets! These are bought en masse by people who simply don't know what they're doing and have zero awareness for the multitude of dynamic variables that come with a well planned SUP adventure. A buoyancy aid is a helpful device, however it isn't going to do anything other than help keep you afloat should you enter the cold water, it won't return you back to dry land safely on its own. Our Introduction to Paddle-boarding session is designed to keep you safe, get you confident and increase your awareness, in a fun and easy pace style that makes an all round awesome experience. We'd recommend this session for anyone that's confident in and around water, has a good level of core stability and fitness and would like to try paddle-boarding. The session will cover the full length of the River Tone in central Taunton On completion of the session you'll be able to hire our boards as often as you'd like on the river and also be eligible (if available) to book and take our boards away for your own day trips and we'll gladly help you plan a safe SUP Adventure. What's involved in the Introduction session: - Safety briefing, a run down on our boards & equipment we use. - Entering the water safely - Paddle stroke - Getting you on your feet - Turning - A complete return paddle of the river from Firepool to French Weir, this will gain you confidence as well as insight into any potential hazards on the river, for when you want to hire with us again - At the end of the session, we'll give you some useful tips on how to plan your own SUP adventure We supply the following: - Paddleboards (weight restricted to 110KG) - Buoyancy aids (size restrictions) - Paddle, Leash fin - Good vibes :-) What you need to bring: - Sensible dress according to the weather on the day - Light clothing if you feel you'll be cold but be mindful this is a physical activity. - Footwear if you wish. - A positive attitude for the activity. It's actually quite difficult to fall off our stable boards, BUT you may fall in, if that makes you fearful then we'll need to work closer with you on one of our one-2-one sessions.
